What Are the Risks of Leaving Your Food Open?

You open a bag of chips, take a few, and leave the rest for later.

But what actually happens to your food once the package is opened?

The biggest enemies are oxygen and moisture.

Once exposed to air, many foods gradually undergo chemical and physical changes. Oxygen can contribute to the oxidation of fats, which may lead to stale or unpleasant flavors over time. Moisture can also change the texture of foods — turning crispy snacks soft and affecting their overall freshness.

And the longer the package remains exposed, the more opportunity there is for these changes to occur.

That doesn't mean an opened bag instantly becomes unsafe. But it does mean that improper storage can significantly reduce freshness, texture, and quality.

A simple airtight seal helps limit exposure to the outside environment, keeping your food better protected between uses.

Less air. Less moisture. Better protection. Better freshness.
